PAYUM, 26 Aug: The construction of the 26-km stretch of the Bille-Miging road from the Bille end (Package-I) under the Arunachal Frontier Highway (NH-913) was formally flagged off on Wednesday in Payum in Siang district by Rumgong MLA Talem Taboh.

The 26-km stretch, falling under Package-I of the Bille-Miging road, will be executed by Mayasheel Ventures Ltd., with its camp office in Kaying. The project is expected to provide a major boost to connectivity and facilitate improved movement of people and goods in the region.

Addressing the gathering, Taboh appealed to the people of Payum circle to extend full cooperation to the executing agency and refrain from creating any hindrance during the construction process.

He also urged the executing agency to carry out the work at a fast pace while strictly adhering to the prescribed technical specifications, quality standards and project norms.

The MLA expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, and Chief Minister Pema Khandu for their efforts towards sanctioning and facilitating the implementation of the long-awaited project. He also congratulated the people of Payum circle on the commencement of the road construction, describing it as a significant milestone and a major step towards improving connectivity and development in the area.

The flag-off ceremony was attended by the Payum ZPM, local leaders, Gaon Buras and villagers of Payum circle. (DIPRO)
