AALO, 16 Jun: West Siang Deputy Commissioner Mindo Loyi on Tuesday emphasised that all government departments must maintain quality of works and ensure timely completion of projects “without compromise.”
Chairing a District Level Monitoring Committee meeting at the DC’s conference hall here, Loyi urged all PRI leaders to actively participate in DLMC meetings to ensure better coordination and monitoring of developmental activities.
The DC also directed all departments to submit updated reports on the progress of their respective works and schemes.
Highlighting the importance of the smart meter initiative, Loyi stated that “it is a progressive step taken by the Government of India and would greatly benefit consumers through efficient energy management.” He encouraged citizens to “adopt the (smart meter) system positively.”
Expressing concern over declining water levels in the district, he stressed the need for stricter measures to curb deforestation and protect the environment.
Zilla Parishad Chairperson Nyali Bagra emphasised that development schemes sanctioned by both the central and state governments should be implemented effectively and transparently. He urged all departments to keep him informed in advance regarding the implementation of various schemes, and to ensure that benefits reach genuine and deserving beneficiaries.
On the education sector, Bagra stressed that salaries should not be released to absentee teachers under any circumstances. He further appealed to all stakeholders and members present to take strict measures against hunting, illegal fishing, and deforestation in West Siang district in order to preserve the region’s rich biodiversity and natural resources.
Assistant Commissioner Koj Tacho highlighted the significance of effective implementation and monitoring of central and state flagship schemes, as well as developmental projects being undertaken by various government departments in the district. (DIPRO)
