DAHUNG, 23 Jun: As part of the National Reading Month (19 June-18 July), the West Kameng district library here conducted a two-day outreach programme through its mobile library initiative, ‘The Kitabi Express’, in various parts of the district.
During the programme, library officials visited Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Avasiya Vidyalaya, Shergaon, and
Jigaon, Jameri, Kaspi and Dahung villages. The team interacted with students and local residents, creating awareness about the importance of reading and promoting a culture of reading among the younger generation.
The officials highlighted the role of books in enhancing knowledge, creativity and critical thinking, while encouraging students to develop reading as a lifelong habit.
As part of the initiative, books were distributed to the students to foster interest in reading and learning.
The outreach programme was organised as part of the district library’s ongoing efforts to extend library services to remote areas and create greater awareness about the importance of reading in personal, educational and intellectual development through The Kitabi Express. (DIPRO)
