NEW DELHI, 8 Jul: Arunachal Pradesh activist Ebo Mili met environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk during his ongoing fast in Delhi, expressing solidarity with his movement and discussing concerns over proposed dam projects in Arunachal Pradesh.

Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has been on an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, since June 28, 2026. The protest, led alongside the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), seeks accountability for exam irregularities and stronger protections for Ladakh.

As a mark of respect, Mili presented Wangchuk with a traditional Idu Mishmi warrior coat (Aetondrey), describing it as a symbolic representation of Wangchuk’s courage and commitment.

He also invited Wangchuk to visit the state in the future. He also handed over a letter highlighting the concerns of Arunachal Pradesh’s anti-dam movement, which Wangchuk read before inviting Mili to join him on the stage.

Addressing the gathering, Mili said he had come to extend support on behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

During his speech, Mili expressed grief over the reported student deaths following the NEET paper leak controversy and offered condolences to the affected families. He also criticized the Central Government over its handling of several national issues, including Operation Sindoor and the violence in Manipur, alleging that it had failed to adequately value human lives.
