BASAR, 21 Jul: The Leparada Artiste Forum (LAF) has deeply mourned the demise of its adviser Marjum Bam, who was also a former technical staffer of the ICAR Basar, and was one of the most respected senior artists of the region.

Late Bam had joined the ICAR in 1981 and retired on 2019 after serving for 38 years.

“Late Marjum Bam was a man of humility, dedication, and exceptional artistic talent. During his service at ICAR Basar, he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues through his sincerity, discipline, and unwavering commitment. Beyond his professional life, he was a towering figure in the cultural landscape of Leparada, whose remarkable contributions to theatre and drama inspired generations of artists,” LAF chairman Pinku Basar stated in a condolence message.

He termed Bam’s passing not only a loss to the bereaved family but also to the entire artistic fraternity and the people of Basar and Leparada district.

“His legacy of service, creativity, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him,” Basar said.

On behalf of the LAF, Basar extended condolence to the bereaved family, and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
