AALO, 10 Aug: A marathon to promote fitness and healthy living, and to spread awareness on the ill effects of drug abuse, was organised here in West Siang district on Monday.

The event saw enthusiastic participation across three categories: open boys, open girls, and veterans.

The marathon, themed 'Run for Fitness, Say No to Drugs', started from Gumin Kiin and culminated at Biru village. The event was flagged off by Sports Minister Kento Jini, along with Deputy Commissioner Mindo Loyi and District Sports Officer Eken Bam.

The marathon was organised by the West Siang District Athletic Association, and sponsored by Aai Agam Foundation in association with the West Siang District Olympic Association and Miles Running Club Aalo. (DIPRO)
