ITANAGAR, 13 Aug: The Manipuri Welfare Society of Arunachal Pradesh (MWSAP) observed the 135th Patriots' Day here on Thursday by paying floral tributes to the brave patriots and martyrs who laid down their lives during the Anglo-Manipur War of 1891.
Floral tributes were offered in memory of the legendary heroes of the 1891 war, including Thangal General, Bir Tikendrajit Singh, and Paona Brajabashi. "Their supreme sacrifices remain an enduring source of inspiration and continue to hold a special place in the collective memory of the people of Manipur," said the MWSAP in a release.
During the event, MWSAP members and other members of the community paid their humble respects to the legendary heroes.
The welfare society acknowledged the guidance, encouragement and continued commitment of its senior members in preserving the legacy of the patriots and ensuring that their ideals and sacrifices remain alive among younger generations, said the release.
