ITANAGAR, 6 Oct: Arunachal Pradesh Women and Child Development Minister Dasanglu Pul on Tuesday called on Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi in New Delhi and discussed a range of issues concerning the welfare, protection and development of women and children in the state.
During the meeting, the two ministers deliberated on strengthening ongoing development initiatives and exploring effective strategies for women-led development, child protection, nutrition and early childhood care, Pul said in a social media post.
They also discussed measures to create greater opportunities for women and adolescent girls and strengthen mechanisms aimed at ensuring their safety, wellbeing and empowerment across Arunachal Pradesh.
Pul reiterated the state government's commitment to further strengthen programmes for women and children and ensure that the benefits of various welfare schemes reach people at the grassroots level.
Pul also expressed gratitude to the union ministry for its various initiatives, particularly those recognising and supporting the contribution of anganwadi workers, anganwadi helpers and ASHAs, who play a crucial role in delivering essential services at the community level.
During the interaction, Devi lauded the 'Agan Milan Sewa Sammelan of Anganwadi Workers and ASHA Didis' organised recently in the state. She appreciated the initiative and the role played by frontline workers in strengthening the delivery of women and child welfare services.
Pul said the union minister assured full support and cooperation in addressing the issues raised during the meeting and in further strengthening initiatives for the welfare and empowerment of women and children in the state.
She thanked Devi for her guidance, encouragement and continued support to Arunachal in advancing initiatives aimed at creating a safer, healthier and more empowered environment for women and children.
Pul said coordinated efforts between the Centre and the state would further strengthen the delivery of welfare programmes and improve their reach at the grassroots.
