RONO HILLS, 10 Aug: Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) here organised a 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat' programme on Monday, under the aegis of the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect programme of the Union Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry.
The programme was organised with the objective of inspiring young people to adopt a drug-free lifestyle, promote volunteerism, leadership, responsible citizenship, and active participation in the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Students, research scholars, NSS volunteers, faculty members, and university officials participated enthusiastically in the event.
The programme featured a special address by Union Youth Affairs and Sports' youth icon Yadam Bagangon the theme 'Viksit Bharat @2047 and Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat'.
She inspired the participants to become ambassadors of a drug-free society, and underscored the importance of youth leadership, discipline, innovation, and social responsibility in achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047.
A Nasha Mukt Bharat awareness video was screened to sensitise participants to the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of preventive awareness.
This was followed by the youth pledge, during which students collectively reaffirmed their commitment to remain free from drugs, and to contribute positively towards society and nation-building.
The programme also included an engaging question-and-answer session, allowing students and research scholars to interact directly with the youth icon and officials from MY Bharat on issues related to youth development, volunteerism, career opportunities, and national initiatives.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of a large number of students and PhD scholars, many of whom also registered on the MY Bharat portal to become part of the national youth movement.
