ITANAGAR, 5 Jul: A total of 16,438 students from 208 government and private secondary and higher secondary schools across the state participated in a school-level general knowledge (GK) test organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s (ABVP) Arunachal Pradesh unit here on Saturday, making it one of the largest student-centric academic initiatives undertaken by the state ABVP.

The objective of the examination was to strengthen students’ academic foundation, encourage a culture of learning, and generate interest in competitive examinations from the school level. The initiative also aimed to bridge gaps in academic preparedness while promoting awareness of the state’s rich heritage and national issues.

The question paper covered a broad range of subjects, including ‘Arunachal Pradesh and Northeast India’, Indian polity, geography, history’, economics, and current affairs.

To familiarise the students with national-level entrance examinations, 50% of the questions were designed on the pattern of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG), providing the participants with early exposure to the examination format.

ABVP Arunachal Pradesh expressed gratitude to all the participating schools, principals, teachers, students, and the dedicated karyakartas “who worked tirelessly across the state – from Tawang to Longding – to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the examination,” it said in a release.

The ABVP said it remains committed to promoting academic excellence, holistic student development, and a spirit of healthy competition among the youthsof Arunachal. “The organisation looks forward to expanding such educational initiatives in the future for the benefit of students across the state,” it said.
