PALIN, 30 Sep: Rajya Sabha member Tai Tagak concluded an intensive two-day official tour of Kra Daadi district and reviewed infrastructure bottlenecks in the district. Tagak inspected the recurring block points of Dokio Langpo and Langba-a major traffic bottleneck severely impacting commuters across Kurung Kumey district, Tali, and Yangte administrative centers, as well as transportation of essential supplies for construction, GREF, BRO, ITBP, and armed forces.
During his visit, the Palin Area Youth Welfare Association, Bazaar Welfare Society, and local affected families met the MP and apprised him of their grievances. Site engineers from NHIDCL (PMU Ziro) and contractor firm Bhimji Velji Soratia outlined plans for slope stabilization and a proposed viaduct bridge to ensure long-term connectivity.
The Kra Daadi deputy commissioner briefed the MP on local administrative challenges, citing lack of prior correspondence updates from NHIDCL and the contractor.
To facilitate safe clearance of accumulated debris, the Dokio Langpo stretch will remain temporarily closed on 1 October.
On Wednesday, Tagak inspected the pending Bridge project over the Don Bosco junction point and questioned representatives from lead contractor Valecha and design firm HEC-AIPP regarding delayed execution. Sub-contractor Kenge Enterprise presented immediate mitigation measures, including a revised bridge layout or a robust retaining wall along the existing road alignment.
Later, the MP visited the Anganwadi Center at Jorung village to attend the Angan Milan Seva programme, held to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years of public service. Tagak interacted with local Anganwadi workers, anganwadi helpers, ASHAs, and the children of the center before departing for Itanagar. (DIPRO)
