NEW DELHI, 16 Aug: Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA) secretary general Bamang Tago met Badminton World Federation (BWF) president Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul here on Sunday and urged BWF's support for development and promotion of badminton in Arunachal Pradesh.

Tago sought BWF's support for development programmes, coaching clinics, equipment assistance, and exposure opportunities for players and officials from Arunachal Pradesh to enable them to compete at higher levels.

During the meeting, he also discussed with the BWF president regarding various initiatives to strengthen badminton infrastructure, technical officiating, and grassroots development in Arunachal Pradesh.

He apprised Leeswadtrakul about the growing popularity of badminton in the state and highlighted ASBA's efforts in nurturing young talent, organizing state-level tournaments, and producing technical officials of national repute.

The BWF president commended ASBA's commitment towards the growth of the sport and assured of BWF's continued support for the development of badminton in the North Eastern region of India.
