NIRJULI, 11 Aug: Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Dairy Development (AHV&DD) Minister Gabriel D Wangsu laid the foundation stone for a modern cattle shed at the Central Cattle Breeding Farm (CCBF) here on Tuesday.

The event was organised by the AHV&DD Department as part of its initiative to enhance livestock infrastructure and promote modern, scientific cattle management within the state.

The proposed infrastructure will house 40 high genetic merit cows and will have modern disposal and ventilation system in place. A automated milking machine will also be installed in the infrastructure.

The construction of the proposed infrastructure is being carried out by the Water Resources Department, Itanagar Division, in collaboration with the Department of AHV&DD.

Officials from the Water Resources Department, Itanagar Division, were also in attendance at the ceremony.

In his address, Wangsu underscored the significance of modern livestock infrastructure in enhancing animal health, cattle management, and overall productivity. He stressed that bolstering breeding and dairy infrastructure would greatly benefit the dairy sector and create better livelihood opportunities for livestock farmers in the state.

The minister inspected the cattle shed site and evaluate the proposed infrastructure.

AHV&DD Secretary YVVJ Rajasekhar emphasised the department's efforts to modernise livestock infrastructure and fortify the dairy and animal husbandry sectors.

He pointed out that the new cattle shed would offer a cleaner, more hygienic and animal-friendly environment for the cattle at the Central Cattle Breeding Farm.
