HAPOLI, 10 Jul: The Hapoli forest division commemorated the 77th Van Mahotsav, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing mission to bolster environmental conservation and reforestation efforts across Lower Subansiri district.

The celebration, which spanned multiple forest ranges, including Hapoli, Talley Valley, Boasimla, Yachuli, Tale Wildlife Sanctuary, and Raga, witnessed widespread community participation. The event brought together local stakeholders, public representatives, village community leaders, and students in a shared mission to protect and expand the region’s green cover.

Throughout the duration of the Van Mahotsav, the forest division organised a series of tree plantation drives and educational awareness programmes. These activities were designed not only to increase the forest density but also to deepen the understanding of the vital role forests play in maintaining the ecological balance of Arunachal Pradesh.

“The enthusiastic involvement of the local communities is the true heart of this celebration,” a spokesperson for the Hapoli forest division stated.

“By actively engaging with village communities and the younger generation, we are fostering a collective responsibility that ensures our forests and biodiversity are preserved for generations to come,”the spokesperson said.
