The Hoj-Potin Road (NH 13) has remained closed since 24 June after a portion near the waterfall area was washed away by a cloudburst near the Panyor hydropower plant.

NTLLP Group is undertaking restoration work on the damaged portion, which was so severe that it has taken months for the state to restore the vital road.

However, while restoration of the damaged portion is expected to be completed by the end of August, the road will not reopen immediately, as cement concrete will then be laid and will require more than a week of curing.

The prolonged closure has forced people from Keyi Panyor, Kra Daadi, Kurung Kumey, Kamle, Upper Subansiri and Papum Pare to use the Kimin route, making their journeys considerably longer.

With a deadline now set, people may look forward to the opening of the road soon.
