HOJ, 20 Aug: One of the most important routes in the state, the Hoj-Potin road (NH 13), has remained closed since 24 June, when a portion of the road at the waterfall area, a few kilometres before Potin, was washed away due to a cloudburst in the area. The restoration of the damaged portion at waterfall, Ch 39.00 km, is being undertaken by the NTLLP Group.

Talking to this daily, NTLLP Group managing director Nabam Tullon informed that the restoration of this portion of the road will be completed by the end of this month.

"Restoration will be completed by the end of this month. But after that, cement concrete will be laid, and it will take a minimum of 10 to 15 days for curing. So, the Hoj-Potin road will be open to road users only after 10 September," said Tullon.

He appealed to the people to extend their cooperation. "It is just a matter of 20 days. I hope people will extend their cooperation, so that the CC is properly cured," he added.

The NTLLP has deployed men and machinery to complete the work at the earliest.

"We have deployed enough men and machinery. They are working in double shifts, including during night time. Rain has also hampered the progress of work, but we are working hard to open this road at the earliest," added Tullon.

With the Hoj-Potin road remaining closed, people from Keyi Panyor, Kra Daadi, Kurung Kumey, Kamle, Upper Subansiri and Papum Pare have been forced to use the Kimin route, which makes the journey considerably longer.
