PASIGHAT, 25 Aug: Apex Professional University (APU) here in East Siang district organised an anti-drug awareness programme under the 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat' campaign on Tuesday.

The programme was organised in association with the office of the superintendent of police, with the objective of sensitising students to the harmful effects of drug abuse and substance addiction and encouraging them to adopt a healthy, responsible and drug-free lifestyle.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Tasso Kaso served as the resource person and spoke about the ground realities and growing challenges of drug abuse in society, particularly among youths. He highlighted its physical, psychological, social and academic consequences, and stressed the importance of awareness, vigilance, timely intervention and collective responsibility in building a healthier, drug-free society.

The programme witnessed active participation of students across various faculties, with an interactive session providing valuable insights into the challenges associated with drug abuse and substance addiction.
