DIRANG, 26 Jun: In a tragic road accident, an Army subedar lost his life, while two others were injured near the PT ground of the 30 Bn SSB here in West Kameng at around 2 pm on Friday.

Upon receiving information about the accident, the rapid rescue team of the 30 Bn SSB rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. Of the three personnel involved, one was administered first aid at the SSB unit MI room by the unit medical officer before being referred to the district hospital in Bomdila.

The other two were promptly evacuated to the community health centre in Dirang for treatment, where subedar Surendar Singh succumbed to his injuries.

According to sources, the three Army personnel of the 18 Sikh Light Infantry were proceeding towards their unit on National Highway 13 when the accident occurred.

The accident was immediately reported by the SSB to Army unit concerned.
