PASIGHAT, 1 Aug: The Bogong Banggo Kebang (BBK), in coordination with the Bogong Banggo Land Action Committee (BBLAC), Bogong Banggo Yameng Kebang (BBYK), and ABSU, has announced a 12-hour Pasighat bandh, from 5 am onwards, on 4 August to press their demands.

The organisations are demanding cross-verification of recent land allotments, eviction of illegal government land encroachers, inclusion of BBK and BBLAC in the District Land Allotment Committee, removal of encroachments from educational institutions, and transparency in beneficiary selection for MAUP smart city buildings.

The bandh, they said, has been announced over the inaction of the district administration, “despite repeated representations, memorandums, public appeals, and a peaceful march-cum-dharna.”

During the bandh, government offices, business establishments, commercial institutions, transport operators, and other stakeholders within the jurisdiction of Bogong Banggo are expected to remain closed.

However, essential services, including hospitals, ambulance services, police, armed forces, fire and emergency services, sanitation, milk supply, funeral services, and accredited press and media personnel will be exempted, they said.
