 TAWANG, 14 Aug: A massive 72-foot tall national flag was hoisted on Thursday at the Sela Tunnel portal by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), marking another milestone under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

Executed by 90 RCC under 42 BRTF of Project Vartak, the flag was installed at an altitude of over 13,000 feet, making it one of the most prominent flags in the high-altitude border region.

The ceremony witnessed participation of local community leaders, village elders and BRO personnel. Together, they saluted the tricolour against the majestic backdrop of the Himalayas.

Officials said the flag is more than just fabric on a pole. "Standing tall at Sela, this tiranga is an everlasting symbol of our sovereignty, national integration and the deep connection between the people of Arunachal Pradesh and India," they said.

"The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign seeks to bring the spirit of Independence Day to every home and landmark across the country, and today's event at Sela Tunnel adds a significant chapter to it," the officials added.

In West Siang district, Deputy Commissioner Mindo Loyi flagged of a tiranga bike and cycle rally as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in Aalo, commemorating the spirit of patriotism and national unity. 

More than 120 bikers and cyclists from the 30 Degree North Bullet Club and Golden Masheer Bike Club in Aalo, and Army cyclists participated in the yatra, carrying the national flag and spreading the message of patriotism, unity and national pride among the people.

In Anjaw district, a tiranga rally under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was organised by the Kibithoo circle administration at Kaho village on Thursday.

The rally witnessed the participation of the Hawai North ZPM, PRI members of Kibithoo and Walong, gaon burahs of Kibithoo, personnel of the Indian Army and ITBP, and local residents from Kibithoo and Walong circles.

Carrying the tricolour, the participants marched through Kaho, spreading the message of patriotism, unity and national pride. The rally also reflected the strong bond between the local community, civil administration and security forces.

From India's first village, the rally conveyed a message of collective commitment towards the vision of a Viksit Bharat, with the tricolour symbolising unity, pride and national spirit. (With inputs from DIPROs)
