ITANAGAR, 4 Jul: An awareness programme on careers in the State Bank of India (SBI) was organised here on Saturday by the SBI SC/ST Employees’ Welfare Association (SEWA) and the SBI regional business office (RBO), in collaboration with the Apatani Interdisciplinary Research Society(AIRS).
The programme was attended by several resource persons from the SEWA and the RBO. The SBI regional manager was also present on the occasion. AIRS executive members and a large number of graduate students participated in the event.
The objective of the programme was to spread awareness among the youths of Arunachal Pradesh and encourage them to build careers in the SBI and the banking sector, so that more youths from the state can secure employment opportunities locally.
The session drew a large turnout of graduate students and covered key areas, including career counselling and guidance in the banking industry, and job opportunities in the SBI and career growth prospects.
The participants were also apprised of the SBI’s recruitment process, from notification to final selection, and exam and interview preparation.
The event was attended also by SEWA Dibrugarh module DGS Binju Karlo, and Itanagar regional manager Rakesh Kumar. The resource persons for the session were Tashi Nungnu, chief manager & SLBC coordinator, Mridul Boruah, manager (HR), M Paulunmang Zou, probationary officer, and Tope Karga, regional secretary, SEWA. On behalf of AIRS, Gyati Tachang Tado also spoke on the occasion.
