KHONSA, 13 Jun: The United Kothin Students’ Union (UKSU) organised a career counselling programme for the students of Kothin village at the NBF Hall here in Tirap district on Saturday, bringing together students, grassroots leaders, and government officials for an engaging and informative session on career planning and personal development.
The programme featured resource persons comprising Tirap ADC Namneet Singh, DIPRO Ponung Tasing, and RBSK Medical Officer Dr Runcha Thinra, who shared their experiences and insights on higher education opportunities, career choices, and future prospects across various fields.
Drawing from their own journeys and experiences in competitive examinations such as the UPSC, APPSCCE, and NEET, the speakers encouraged the students to pursue their aspirations with determination, discipline, and confidence. The session also highlighted entrepreneurship as a promising avenue for the youths of Tirap, emphasising on innovation, self-employment, and local enterprise development.
An insightful session on sex education and adolescent health awareness was conducted by Dr Thinra, focusing on informed decision-making, personal wellbeing, and responsible behaviour among young people.
As part of the programme, students who passed the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations were felicitated by the UKSU in recognition of their academic achievements. (DIPRO)
