KHONSA, 9 Aug: On the second day of his two-day visit to Tirap district, Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta, along with MLA Wanglam Sawin, inspected several major infrastructure and development projects in Khonsa on Sunday morning.
The projects inspected included the zonal general hospital, the road sinking area near the post office, the newly constructed PM SHRI Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), the district museum, and the 132/33 kv power substation.
During his visit to the PM SHRI GHSS, the CS took note of the shortage of furniture in the girls' hostel. He directed the executing agency, PWD, to prepare an estimate for the required furniture.
Meanwhile, a group of public leaders, including ZPC John KK Matey, Tirap BJP unit president Lankham Wangsu, and all ZPMs from Tirap district submitted a memorandum to the CS, requesting for urgent intervention and discussion with the Government of Assam for widening, strengthening and permanently restoring the Assam portion of the Khonsa-Bogapani-Joypur road (NH 315A).
