CHANGLANG, 9 Aug: Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta reviewed the progress of the special intensive revision (SIR) and various developmental projects in Changlang district on Sunday.
During the review meeting held in Changlang headquarters, the CS stressed the importance of accuracy, timely completion, and effective coordination among all stakeholders for successful implementation of the SIR exercise.
While reviewing various developmental projects, the CS directed the departments concerned to ensure timely completion of ongoing projects while adhering to quality standards.
He emphasised on result-oriented projects implementation, so that the benefits of developmental schemes reach the people, particularly those residing in remote areas of the district.
The chief secretary also stressed the importance of reducing the use of single-use plastics, discouraging the use of plastic water bottles, promoting environmental conservation, encouraging water conservation, and adopting sustainable water management practices.
He asked the departments to work in a coordinated manner towards sustainable development and effective delivery of public services.
During the meeting, a detailed review of the SIR of electoral rolls was conducted. The chief electoral officer apprised the meeting of the progress and status of the SIR exercise in the district.
The deputy commissioner made a detailed presentation on the various developmental projects being implemented in the district. Progress of projects under key departments, including PWD, PHE, Urban Development, Education, Health and Power was reviewed.
The director of health services and health officials presented an overview of health-related initiatives, including HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness under the AIDS Suraksha programme.
The meeting emphasised on strengthening awareness, outreach and healthcare services, particularly in remote and vulnerable areas.
The education sector was also reviewed, with emphasis on improving educational outcomes and achieving a gross enrolment ratio (GER) of around 90-95%.
Certificates of appreciation and mobile tablets were also distributed to five girl toppers of Class 12 in the CBSE examination 2026, recognising their outstanding academic performance. (DIPRO)
