DADAM, 22 Aug: Tirap Deputy Commissioner Badonlum Tawsik on Saturday visited Dadam circle headquarters and assessed the functioning of educational and healthcare institutes, the Dadam circle administration, and the challenges being faced by the circle.
During his visit to the Government Secondary School Dadam, the DC reviewed the school's academic performance and examination results with the school headmaster in-charge and teaching staff. He commended the teaching staff for their efforts in ensuring good academic performance in the CBSE exam.
Taking note of the shortage of boys' hostel accommodation, the DC assured the school authorities that the matter would be taken up with the higher authorities of the education department for necessary action.
Regarding irregular power supply, he assured the school authorities that the matter would be discussed with the executive engineer of the Power Department to improve the power supply to the institution.
At the Tirong Aboh PHC, the DC reviewed the availability and deployment of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff. He also took stock of medicines and directed the medical officer to ensure proper verification of expiry dates before medicines are issued to patients.
The DC urged the medical staff to discharge their duties with sincerity, dedication and responsibility to ensure effective and timely healthcare services to the public.
Taking note of complaints regarding frequent power disruptions, he assured that the matter would be taken up with the executive engineer (electrical) for ensuring adequate and uninterrupted power supply to the health centre.
During his inspection of the CO office, the DC interacted with the office staff as well as personnel of the CRPF and Assam Rifles deployed in Dadam. He took stock of the prevailing law-and-order situation and reviewed issues concerning the effective functioning of the administrative headquarters.
At the police station also, he interacted with the officer-in-charge and took stock of the prevailing law-and-order situation.
Tawsik also inspected the proposed site for the SIB camp in Dadam and reviewed matters related to site selection and other requirements.
The DC was accompanied by DLRSO Lomin Lungchang, the SIB DCIO, PI Timat Nokbi, and ATDSU convener Khiapgi Agi during his visit. (DIPRO)
