PASIGHAT, 18 May: Adi communities dwelling in different villages of the Siang belt celebrated Etor festival in their respective villages. The festivities concluded on Sunday night.

The celebration in Ayeng village in Mebo was attended by Industries Minister Nyato Dukam, who encouraged the youths to preserve their ancestral tradition through festivities.

Local MLAs, including Ninong Ering (Pasighat West), Tapi Darang (Pasighat East) and Oken Tayeng (Mebo) visited different villages in their respective constituencies and participated in festive celebrations.

Among others, former minister Bosiram Siram and retired elementary education director Tapi Gao also took active part in the festivities in Pasighat and Sille-Oyan blocks of East Siang district.

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Ojing Tasing joined the celebration in Pangin on the inaugural day. He was accompanied by Siang DC Tayi Taggu and ZPC Tamat Tatak, who urged the community’s people to carry forward their traditional practices for the coming generations.
