PASIGHAT, 16 May: Commerce and Industries Minister Nyato Dukam inaugurated ‘Tulang’, an edible oil extraction and production facility, at the Industrial Estate here in East Siang district on Saturday.
Established as a subsidiary of Elam Industries, Tulang is set to manufacture and supply pure mustard and sesame oil to the region.
Speaking at the inauguration, the proprietor of Tulang, retired IAF group captain Mohonto Panging Pao, outlined the factory’s commitment to quality. He noted that, while the company is not branding the products as strictly organic due to sourcing raw materials from diverse suppliers, they guarantee that the oil is completely pure and free from any adulteration. The factory currently operates with a production capacity of 200 litres per day, handling the entire processing, bottling, and labelling cycle on-site.
Dukam expressed gratitude to Pao for his continuous contributions to the state’s economic growth and employment generation. Highlighting Pao’s transition from a distinguished career in the Indian Air Force to the industrial sector, the minister commended his dedication as an inspiration that is firmly placing Arunachal Pradesh on the nation’s industrial map.
“The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, remains deeply committed to establishing Arunachal Pradesh as an important industrial hub,” Dukam said.
The minister also assured of full administrative cooperation and assured to review the memorandum submitted by the Siang Indigenous Manufacturers, Producers & Services Association, alongside the chief minister and relevant authorities.
Pasighat East MLA Tapi Darang also extended his congratulations, framing the venture as a major win for the local community. He emphasised that Tulang creates a reliable market network for local farmers to sell their oilseeds and opens up crucial employment avenues for local youths.
The event concluded with supportive addresses from Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering and Mebo MLA Oken Tayeng, who echoed the call for collective community support for the success of the new industrial venture.
