TAWANG, 14 Aug: In a prompt and coordinated response, the Tawang police traced and safely recovered four minor boys reported missing from Eklavya Model Residential School, Bana, East Kameng district, within a short time after receiving information from the Seppa police.

At around 12:30 pm on Friday, telephonic information was received from the  Seppa police station officer-in-charge (OC) regarding four minor boys reported missing from Eklavya Model Residential School, Bana, who were believed to be heading towards Tawang district.

Acting immediately on the information, a team from the Tawang police station, comprising Lady Inspector Nii Angu, SI (SG) Tsering Rinchin, HC Pema Khandu, Lady Constable Lham Drema, and HC (D) Jambey Lhondup, under the supervision of SP Tasi Darang and DSP (HQ) Togum Gonggo, launched an extensive search across Tawang township.

The sustained search efforts yielded quick results, and at approximately 1:05 pm, all four minor boys were located and intercepted near the parade ground area in Tawang, barely 35 minutes after the information was received.

Following their recovery, the Tawang SP, the Tawang Child Welfare Committee (CWC), and the Seppa police station OC were informed. The minors were subsequently brought to the police station in Tawang for necessary formalities, interaction, and monitoring by the CWC.

The children were counselled by CWC members Sonam Dolkar and Genden Lhamu, with due attention to their safety and well-being.

After completion of the required procedures and counselling, all four minors were safely handed over to their parents in good health. (DIPRO)
