JANG, 20 Sep: The Monyul Kimo Jung Farmer Producer Company (FPC) Ltd, promoted by the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) and based in Kharsa here in Tawang district, has launched an intensive one-month FPC shareholders' mobilisation campaign, aimed at increasing farmer participation and creating awareness about the importance and benefits of joining the FPC.
The month-long campaign commenced with a shareholders' mobilisation procession through Jang town, organised to sensitise farmers and the public to the role of FPCs in strengthening farmers' collective efforts, improving market access, promoting value addition and enhancing income opportunities.
The procession witnessed the participation of more than 50 FPC shareholders, along with officials and staff of BMMU Jang-Thingbu, ArSRLM, under the guidance of livelihood block coordinator Appu Techi.
The programme was organised under the guidance and support of the Jang administration, with active cooperation from all stakeholders concerned and the Police Department, particularly in ensuring smooth movement and traffic safety during the march.
The Monyul Kimo Jung FPC Ltd, registered under the Companies Act, is promoted with the objective of bringing farmers together as shareholders and creating a collective platform for agricultural production, aggregation, marketing, value addition and better market linkages. The FPC seeks to enable farmers to move towards collective and organised farming enterprises while improving their access to markets and business opportunities.
The procession marked the beginning of the intensive mobilisation campaign. As part of the next phase, the FPC and BMMU Jang-Thingbu team will undertake village-wise visits and meetings with farmers and the public to sensitise them to the FPC, explain the benefits of becoming shareholders, and encourage more farmers to join the company.
The campaign aims to build a stronger farmer-owned institution based on the principle of 'One Farmer,One Share', encouraging collective participation, ownership and sustainable growth.
