ITANAGAR, 3 Jun: Governor K.T Parnaik on Wednesday arrived in Meghalaya’s capital Shillong to attend the 73rd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council (NEC) on four June.
The plenary session, to be chaired by union Home Minister Amit Shah, who also is the chairman of the NEC, is expected to review the progress of ongoing developmental initiatives in the region. It will also chart a forward-looking roadmap to accelerate growth, enhance connectivity, strengthen border infrastructure, and improve the quality of life of the people of the North East in line with the vision of a developed and prosperous India.
The session will also be attended by NEC vice chairman Jyotiraditya Scindia, governors and chief ministers of the Northeastern states, chief secretaries, and senior officials of the central government. (Lok Bhavan)
