ITANAGAR, 18 Aug: Himalayan University (HU) on Tuesday held an anti-ragging awareness programme to sensitise students and the university community about the adverse consequences of ragging and promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment.

DIG Tumme Amo sensitized students about the importance of discipline, mutual respect, responsible conduct, and awareness of the legal and social consequences associated with ragging.

HU vice chancellor prof. Prakash Divakaran reiterated the university's commitment to maintaining a safe, dignified, and student-friendly campus. He encouraged students to uphold ethical values, respect one another, and contribute collectively towards creating a positive academic environment free from ragging and discrimination.

The university's registrar Vijay K.Tripathi highlighted the significance of organising awareness programmes to strengthen the university's collective resolve against ragging.

Around 110 participants, comprising university officials, such as dean of research, head of administration, DSW, director of IQAC, heads of departments, faculty members, staff, and students, actively participated in the programme.
