YUPIA, 15 Jul: The inaugural Arunachal Women’s League 2026 began at the Golden Jubilee Outdoor Stadium here on Wednesday with the opening match between Monyul FC and Kamle DFA.
Monyul won the match FC 6-0.
The league aims to promote women’s football in Arunachal Pradesh and provide a competitive platform for talented footballers from across the state, the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) said in a release.
The association appealed to football enthusiasts to witness the upcoming matches and encourage players.
“Come and support women’s football in Arunachal Pradesh-together, let us cheer our daughters and inspire the next generation,” the APFA stated.
The opening ceremony was attended by APFA secretary-general Kipa Ajay, who is also treasurer of All India Football Federation (AIFF), Arunachal Football Referee Committee chairman Techi Tadap, football officials, and supporters.
