PASIGHAT, 17 Jul: The Spearhead Gunners of the Sigar military station here in East Siang district conducted a ‘military interaction and strategic weapons display’ programme for the students of Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) on Friday, as part of the university’s orientation programme for the 2026-27 academic session.
The initiative aimed at familiarising the students with the ethos of military service, leadership, discipline, and the diverse opportunities available in the Indian armed forces, while fostering a spirit of patriotism, nation-building and responsible citizenship.

The interactive sessions allowed students to engage directly with Army personnel, understand life in the armed forces, and appreciate the importance of teamwork, discipline and leadership.
Students sought information on officer entry schemes, Agniveer recruitment, and the numerous career opportunities available in the Indian Army.
