Editor,
I would like to highlight an issue which might be of concern for many, but I believe many candidates like me might have faced this situation. I have taken all three exams conducted by the APSSB and have successfully cleared all three exams in a span of two years. I don't know if it was just me or if others also faced these issues, but during the exam hours, whichever centre I have been in, I noticed that invigilators, at least in my exam room, indulge in casual conversation during the exam. During the exam, candidates are very stressed and a slight sound distracts them. I am not pointing a finger at any of the invigilators, but whether it was in Ziro, where I cleared CSL, or in Bomdila, where I cleared CGL, I have noticed this, and in one instance I had to ask the invigilator not to speak so loudly as it was distracting me, as during the exam we are in such pressure and are going through all sorts of mixed feelings.
First of all, I would like to thank the APSSB for conducting the exams so smoothly in these past few years, as it has changed the future of many candidates like me. However, I would like to request the APSSB to give clear directives to the invigilators to please communicate with one another quietly and refrain from any casual conversation.
Also, during the exam, I would like to request the APSSB to give directives to the department concerned to make sure that during the two hours of the exam, the board stops construction or any source of loud noise at least near 200 to 500 metre radius of the exam centre.
I hope my views will be taken as a piece of advice from an aspirant's point of view and not some criticism. I hope the APSSB will consider this matter.
