ITANAGAR, 20 Sep: Wushu athlete Nyeman Wangsu will be seen in action at the Asian Games on 21 September (Monday) morning.

A three-time National Games gold medallist, she will be competing simultaneously against a field of top performers from across the continent in the Changquan (Taolu) final (direct medal event).

The event is scheduled to be held from 5:30 am (IST).

She had missed the previous Asian Games in China due to the stapled visa issue.

Wangsu hails from Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Her compatriot and medal hope, Taekwndo star Rupa Bayor, will compete in the poomsae semifinal, a non-combat event, on 1 October, with the final scheduled on the same day.

The event will also be held from 5:30 am (IST) onwards.

Bayor won bronze at the 2026 Asian Taekwondo Poomsae Championships. She became the first Indian poomsae athlete to reach Asia No 1 and a career-high World No 5 earlier this year.

She hails from Upper Subansiri district.

Currently, she is ranked second in Asia and seventh globally.

The 20th edition of the Asian Games was flagged off in Aichi-Nagoya at the Paloma Mizuho Stadium on Saturday.

The Asian Games can be watched live on the Sony Sports Network and SonyLIV app and website.
