I would like to draw the attention of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and the department concerned, particularly the executing agency, Public Works Department, Doimukh Division, to the deplorable condition of the first state highway connecting Gohpur (Itanagar) to Jote.

The road has developed numerous potholes and uneven stretches, making travel difficult and unsafe. The situation has become worse due to waterlogging, mud sliding and poor drainage. The daily commuters of Sangdupota area and of premier institute like the NIT, Arunachal Pradesh, Satyajit Ray Institute of Film Television (FTI) Jollang, Jarbom Gamlin Government Law College Jote (JGGLC), Binni Yanga Government Women College Poma and medical patients are facing considerable inconvenience due to the damaged road, which also increases the risk of accidents and vehicle breakdowns.

I request the state government and the authorities concerned to inspect the highway immediately and undertake urgent repair, maintenance and drainage work.
