ITANAGAR, 11 Aug: The People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) strongly supported the demand raised by the All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) for changes in document requirements for recruitment processes conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB).
The party said that, since Arunachal Pradesh is a 100 per cent tribal state, documents like Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe [APST] certificate and permanent resident certificate [PRC] should have been made mandatory from the very beginning for all kinds of recruitment processes in the state.
The PPA said although the matter has been raised late, the AAPSU and other organisations have brought up the matter at the right time.
The party expressed hope that the state government, led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, would accept the recommendations of the high-power committee constituted to examine the matter and issue necessary notification for implementation by the recruiting agencies.
