HAWAI, 17 Aug: Women and child development minister Dasanglu Pul called for greater transparency and community participation in the selection of beneficiaries under PMAY-G. She directed that social audits and participation of PRls be ensured while finalizing beneficiary lists.
Reviewing various ongoing schemes and projects at a DLMC-cum-DLRC meeting here on Monday, the minister asked HoDs to resolve pending issues, if any, in a time-bound manner.
Pul stressed the need to strengthen banking infrastructure in the district and directed all HoDs to transfer departmental bank accounts maintained at Tezu to the respective bank branches located within Anjaw district. She also called for effective utilisation of existing community centres and unused government infrastructure for facilitating healthcare services wherever required.
During the DLRC session, the Lead District Manager, State Bank of India, briefed the committee on the status of various banking-linked schemes, accounts and related financial matters in the district.
Earlier, the HoDs presented the status of ongoing schemes, projects and departmental interventions in their respective departments.
Deputy commissioner Millo Kojin, ZPMs, representatives of financial institutions and other stakeholders attended the meeting.
Later, Pul inaugurated a newly constructed RCC school building at Government Upper Primary School, Walla.
The minister said the new infrastructure would provide students with a safer and more conducive environment for learning and further strengthen educational facilities in the border district.
"The new school building is another important step towards strengthening educational facilities across Anjaw district and providing our children with a safe and conducive environment where they can learn, grow and realise their dreams," the minister said.
She expressed hope that improved infrastructure would encourage students to pursue their education with greater enthusiasm and help them realise their aspirations.
The inauguration comes amid efforts to improve educational infrastructure and create better learning facilities for students across Anjaw district. (DIPRO)
