As a concerned citizen, I believe that every political party, whether in government or in opposition, has a responsibility to uphold democracy, protect peaceful protest, and respect the rights of the people.
India has witnessed many democratic movements over the years, including anti-corruption campaigns, hunger strikes, human chains, and mass public protests. These movements have played an important role in strengthening democratic accountability.
Today, many citizens are expressing concern over issues such as alleged corruption, the NEET paper leak, rising prices of essential commodities, petrol, diesel, and cooking gas, as well as the treatment of protesting youth and students. These concerns deserve to be heard and addressed through transparent investigations and fair governance.
The voices of students and young people should never be ignored. Peaceful protest is a democratic right, and governments should respond with dialogue, justice, and accountability.
We welcome any genuine and timely action taken by the Government of India, including investigations and fast-track legal proceedings wherever appropriate. At the same time, we urge that all allegations of corruption or wrongdoing be investigated impartially, regardless of political affiliation.
The people of India want a corruption-free nation, transparent governance, respect for democratic values, and equal justice for all. Our democracy becomes stronger when governments listen to the people and act in the public interest. Many citizens have expressed concern that senior BJP leaders remained largely silent on issues affecting students and allegations of corruption. During this period, Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders organised protests and demanded accountability from the government.
The recent political protests and confrontations between party workers have further increased public concern. We appeal to all political parties to maintain peace, respect democratic values, and avoid violence or intimidation.
The people of India expect every political party – whether in government or opposition – to focus on addressing public issues, ensuring accountability, and working for the welfare of the nation, rather than engaging in political confrontation. If any political party or organisation organises a rally or public demonstration, it should strictly follow the law and obtain all required permissions and no objection certificates (NOCs) from the competent authorities before the event.
As one of the country’s largest political parties, the BJP is expected by many citizens to set an example by fully complying with all legal requirements and promoting respect for the rule of law. The same standard should apply equally to every political party and organisation, without exception.
No one should be above the law, and the rule of law must be applied fairly and equally to all. On Thursday night the prime minister of India shared a video message on social media, announcing that the government would take swift action, including initiating fast-track court proceedings. Many citizens believe that this response came after the strong and united voices of students and public protests demanding accountability and justice. As concerned citizens, many of us believe that accountability is essential in public office. If there is a serious loss of public confidence due to issues in the education sector, we respectfully call for the resignation or removal of the union education minister, and for a fair, transparent, and independent investigation into the matter. Our demand is for accountability, justice, and reforms that restore public trust in the education system. The people of Arunachal Pradesh are witnessing the functioning of the double-engine government and expect the principles of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ to be reflected in governance.
Citizens hope that all government programmes and policies are implemented transparently, honestly, and free from corruption. Every public scheme should benefit the people fairly, with accountability at every level of administration.
The people of Arunachal seek good governance, equal opportunities, timely implementation of development projects, and a corruption-free administration that serves the public interest. The government has declared this year as the ‘Year of Youth’ and the ‘Year of Education’. However, many unemployed young people in the state are still waiting for meaningful opportunities.
We respectfully urge the government to ensure that young people are treated with dignity and respect. Law enforcement should act professionally and protect the rights of all citizens while maintaining public order.
The youth are the future of our state and our nation. Investing in their education, employment, safety, and empowerment is essential for building a stronger and more prosperous India.
A concerned citizen
