RONO HILLS, 15 Jul: The Rajiv Gandhi University Research Scholars’ Forum (RGURSF) welcomed the newly appointed RGU vice-chancellor, prof. Shivaraj, at the university premises here on Wednesday.

Prof. Shivaraj expressed his desire to develop RGU into a leading research institution, not only in the state but also as a national asset and an international contender. He also called upon researchers to ensure that their work transcends personal gain and creates a positive impact on society, the forum informed in a release.

Welcoming the VC to Arunachal Pradesh and RGU, forum president Habung Hagio expressed hope that prof. Shivaraj’s assumption of office as VC would usher in a new era of vision and commitment to the cause of higher education in the university and the state. Hagio also explained the purpose behind the formation of the forum and sought the VC’s support for its future endeavours.

Other executive members of the forum, including the general secretary, convenor and assistant education secretary, were also present on the occasion, the release added.
