ZIRO, 10 Oct: The Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission (APIC) teamed up with the Lower Subansiri district administration to host a comprehensive RTI awareness programme at Saint Claret College, Ziro (SCCZ) on Saturday as part of the ongoing RTI Week celebration.
The event drew participation of students, faculty members, and district leaders.
The highlight of the day was the keynote address delivered by Chief Election Commissioner Jarken Gamlin. Sharing the stage with him were State Information Commissioners Vijay Taram, Khopey Thaley and Dani Gambo.
Gamlin emphasised the crucial role that the Right to Information (RTI) plays in modern governance, and commended the overwhelming presence and enthusiasm of the students.
In the afternoon session, students and participants dove deep into the practical mechanics of transparency, learning firsthand how to properly file RTI applications and effectively approach public information officers (PIOs).
The event bridged the gap between governance and the younger generation, leaving the attendees equipped with the knowledge to actively participate in a transparent democracy. (DIPRO)
