ITANAGAR, 17 Jul: A short-term training programme on ‘drone-enabled healthcare, food engineering, agriculture andresearch technologies’ commenced at the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) in Nirjuli on Friday.
The programme aims to provide a platform for knowledge exchange, academic collaboration, and discussion on innovative technological developments, according to a NERIST release.
It will feature expert lectures, hands-on demonstrations, case studies, and interactive sessions by academicians, industry experts, and drone technology professionals in the domains of healthcare, food and agricultural systems using engineering and technology.
Practical demonstrations will also be conducted to help participants understand drone assembly, flight control, data acquisition, and real-time applications.
The programme will provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical exposure to drone technologies and their multidisciplinary applications, encompassing healthcare, food and agricultural systems.
In addition, it will encourage participants to explore innovative research and development opportunities in drone-based applications, contributing to technological advancement and societal development.
Participants from various institutes and universities across India and the world are participating in it, and will present their research papers.
The opening ceremony was attended by NERIST Director Prof Narendranath S, Dean (Academics) Prof S Gao, R&D Prof MB Sharma, Gorakhpur (UP)-based MMM University of Technology’s ECE Department Head Prof Sanjay Kumar Soni, and Powergrid Itanagar Executive Director Pradeep Kumar.
The programme, which will conclude on 21 July, is being organised jointly by the electronics and communication engineering department and the food engineering and technology department of the NERIST.
