RAGA, 15 Oct: Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak on Thursday stressed the need for long-term planning for spring water management, particularly in the Himalayan region.
Addressing government officials during his two-day visit to Kamle district as a part of 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan', the MP asked the department concerned to focus on conservation of spring water.
"Mismanaged spring water causes floods in hilly areas, especially in Arunachal Pradesh, resulting in loss of properties," the MP observed.
During the meeting, Tagak also took stock of the development of the health and education sectors in the district.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner JT Obi gave a brief account of the developmental activities in the district, while District Planning Officer Mantu Gyadi delivered a presentation on the achievement and challenges of the district.
The MP was accompanied by Arunachal Pradesh Bamboo Resource Development Agency Vice Chairman Techi Necha during his visit. (DIPRO)
