I wish to draw the attention of the authorities concerned and the public towards the serious financial hardship being faced by guest teachers in Arunachal Pradesh, who have been working for nearly three months without receiving their remuneration.

Guest teachers play an important role in keeping government schools functioning, particularly in areas where there is a shortage of regular teachers. They enter classrooms, teach students, prepare lessons, conduct examinations, and perform other academic duties with the same sense of responsibility expected from any teaching professional.

However, despite rendering their services, many of them are still waiting for their payment.

Three months without remuneration is not a minor administrative delay for a teacher. These teachers have household expenses, loans, children's education, transportation costs and other financial commitments. They accepted these assignments with the expectation that they would receive their wages on time. Delayed payment places an unnecessary burden on people who are already working under temporary and uncertain employment conditions.

The issue also raises a broader question about the treatment of contractual and guest teachers in the education system. If the government requires their services and benefits from their work, their remuneration should be released regularly and within a reasonable time. Administrative procedures should not become a reason for withholding the livelihood of teachers.

I therefore appeal to the departments concerned and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to urgently look into the matter, release all pending remuneration of guest teachers without further delay, and establish a transparent mechanism to ensure that such delays do not recur in the future.

Teachers are responsible for shaping the future of our children. They deserve timely payment, dignity and fair treatment while performing this responsibility.
