ITANAGAR, 12 Aug: Tirang Yatra was organized in several districts on Wednesday, spreading the message of patriotism, national unity and pride in the National Flag.

The West Kameng unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised a mega Tiranga yatra at Dirang.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Phurpa Tsering said that patriotic programmes like Tiranga yatra demonstrate the people's strong sense of belonging to the nation and their commitment to safeguarding the country's territorial integrity.

He stressed the importance of inculcating patriotism among the younger generation and encouraged students to learn and understand the significance of Vande Mataram and the values associated with the national movement.

The ABVP state's joint secretary Tsering Wangchu Ngoimu, and state's organising secretary Jeli Ete urged the participants to serve the nation and take pride in being Indians.

Earlier, the Tiranga Yatra commenced from the 'Welcome Gate' and culminated at Lopen Stadium, covering a distance of more than two kilometres.

A magnificent 300-foot-long Tricolour was carried throughout the march by participating students and community members creating a powerful display of patriotism, unity and national pride.

At Daporijo, A Tiranga bike rally was organised as part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' programme.

The Tiranga bike rally was flagged off by Upper Subansiri deputy commissioner Tasso Gambo and ZPC Joti Sikom and was organised by the district administration, in collaboration with Upper Subansiri Riders.

At Tawang,  the Tiranga Yatra was organised from the Giant Buddha Statue to the historic Tawang War Memorial as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

Participants carried a magnificent 100-metre-long National Tricolour, while hundreds of hands held the National Flag high with pride and honour.

The Tiranga Yatra was flagged off by Tawang deputy commissioner in-charge Rinchin Leta and SP Tasi Darang, in the presence of ZPMs Tenzin Monpa and Sonam Nordzin.

Earlier, addressing the gathering at the Giant Buddha Statue, Leta highlighted the significance of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and recalled the inspiring role of the National Flag and Vande Mataram in India's freedom struggle. He appealed to the people of Tawang to proudly hoist the National Flag at their homes from 9 to 17 August and wholeheartedly participate in the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga movement.
