TUTING, 24 Jul: Demonstrating its steadfast commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen, veer naris, veer matas and their families, the Indian Army organised an outreach programme called ‘Shaurya Sambandh’ here in Upper Siang district on Thursday.
The outreach initiative reaffirmed the Army’s enduring bond with its veteran community by ensuring that those who once served the nation continue to receive care, respect, and timely support.
The programme served as a dedicated platform to connect with veterans residing in remote and geographically challenging areas, where access to welfare services is often limited. Special emphasis was laid on creating awareness about various government and Army welfare schemes, pension-related benefits, healthcare facilities, financial assistance, resettlement opportunities, and other entitlements available to ex-servicemen and veer naris.
The participants were guided on the procedures to avail these benefits, enabling them to access their rightful entitlements with greater ease and confidence.
A key highlight of the event was the grievance redressal session, during which veterans and their families were encouraged to share their concerns directly with Army representatives. Individual cases were heard with empathy, and efforts were initiated to facilitate timely resolution through the appropriate authorities.
The interactive session strengthened mutual trust and reassured the veterans that the Indian Army remains committed to supporting them long after their active service.
Beyond addressing administrative issues, the initiative reinforced the values of gratitude, dignity and national pride. It recognised the invaluable contributions and sacrifices of the veteran fraternity while fostering a strong sense of belonging within the Army family. (DIPRO)
