ZIRO, 17 Aug: A total of 21 units of blood were collected during a voluntary blood donation camp at Gyati Takka Zonal General Hospital (GTZGH) here in Lower Subansiri district on Monday.
The camp was conducted jointly by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit and Red Ribbon Club of St. Claret College, Ziro, in collaboration with the Blood Centre.
Of the 21 donors, eight were male and 13 female.
Thirty-two potential donors, including nine males and 23 females turned up for the initial health screenings.
The camp aimed to encourage youth participation in voluntary donation and create awareness about the importance of a single donation.
The collection included 8 units of A+, 4 units of B+, 6 units of O+, and 3 units of AB+.
The camp was coordinated by NSS programme officers Jeremia Modi, Nending Sumpi and Tage Tagyung, along with Red Ribbon Club coordinator Withoam Socia. (DIPRO)
