NAHARLAGUN, 27 Jun: Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs Minister Gabriel D Wangsu called upon all enforcement officers of the department to ensure strict enforcement of the provisions of the Legal Metrology Acts & Rules in each district of the state, and to “expedite the enforcement works by mobile inspection team at zonal level.”

Addressing officials at a review meeting of the Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs (LM&CA) Department held at the conference hall of the LM&CA controller here on Friday, Wangsu emphasised on “evolution of means and methodologies to equip all the field officers to deal effectively with the continuous changing dynamics of the business communities in the market.”

He advised imparting training to the enforcement officers by chalking out programmes to visit other states to adopt their best practices. He also advised all officers to expeditiously deal with and dispose of cases related to establishment works and enforcement activities.

Deliberating on the functioning of the department, LM&CA Secretary Mige Kamki asked all the officers to train and prepare themselves with all the office applications to become self-reliant in office works. He also advised the district level officials to work in a cohesive manner “for best results of the department by considering the annual revenue target as fixed by the state government, as the same shall be reflected upon APAR of the officer.”

LM&CA Controller Minte Siga exhorted all the members present to actively participate in the review meeting to draw a roadmap for the welfare of the department. He stressed on creating a peaceful and friendly atmosphere in the office for greater welfare of the department in the times ahead.

Assistant Controller (HQ) Gamkhong Singpho also spoke.

LM&CA Under secretary Kipa Yakum and all deputy controllers, assistant controllers, inspectors and other officer of the LM&CA Department were present at the review meeting.
