PASIGHAT, 14 Jun: A youth has lost his life in an accident that took place on the Pasighat-Roing highway (NH 13) near Mebo Charali in East Siang district.
The deceased has been identified as Anggo Pulu (24),of Dambuk Sirang village in Lower Dibang Valley district.
The Mebo police said that the accident occurred when a Mahindra Scorpio hit a Pasighat-bound timber laden truck from the rear side and the youth (driver of the Scorpio) lost his life on the spot. The Scorpio (AR-16A-9321) was also compressed under heavy timber logs.
The police said that the incident might have occurred on the midnight of Saturday but they were informed about it at around 5 am on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, the police recovered the dead body from the spot and sent it to Bakin Pertin General Hospital in Pasighat.
The police have registered a case at the Mebo police station regarding the unnatural death caused by the accident and launched an investigation to unearth the actual reason behind the accident.
