RUKSIN, 7 Aug: About 60 youths of Debing village in East Siang district on Friday conducted a cleaning drive here in East Siang district.
The youth volunteers, including members of Idol Siisang Angong Sirum (ISAS), Young Star Team and other youths of the village, cleaned the premises of Tasi Panggeng Memorial CHC, the Ruksin police station, SDPO office, RWD guesthouse, ADC's office, the higher secondary school, and the general ground.
On return to Debing on Friday afternoon, the youth volunteers also cleared the Rayang to Jonekorong road, making the road convenient for public movement.
The ZPMs of Ruksin, including Tayam Darang and Miti Paron, Ruksin police and a few government employees provided food and drinking water to them during the cleaning drive.
ISAS president Sotyaban Ering said cleaning and plantation programmes are part of their 'Clean and Green' mission, and that they are planning to conduct more such programmes in Ruksin circle in the future.
In June this year, the youth organisations of Debing,with the help of the Ruksin forest range office,planted 1,000 saplings of different species covering roadsides, riverbanks, medical sub-centres, and public places.
